Becoming a Festival:
A Vision of Worship
A festival is mostly about celebration. We believe worship should be a celebration of who God is and all that He has done in our lives. We strive to feel the presence of God in our worship, to sing and to laugh and to pray in the conviction that God meets us and hears us and rejoices with us. As we worship—as we experience God together—we are changed and we know the fullness of life God desires for us.
Revelation 7:9 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb
As the ‘tribe’ at Laurier, we meet together to worship God – a festival. Our ‘tribe’ includes people from diverse backgrounds. In order to worship God with all that he has given us, we have been learning to worship in three different ways. One week, our service is traditional (exploring the historical richness of our Christian traditions), one week it is a contemplative service (drawing close to God and experiencing his presence), and one week it is a charismatic service (using all our strength and energy to worship God).
It is our prayer that we will joyfully enter into these diverse worship styles in love and in unity.
